Benefit With Top Ecommerce Marketing Strategy

You might think that the best ecommerce marketing strategy is advertising.  Banner ads, one line text links and larger graphic ads on websites and in newsletters are one way to advertise.  It’s usually a fairly expensive way, though.  Especially if you have the graphics made to be eye-catching, like animations that are sure to get people to notice them.  But just because someone notices the person doing cartwheels on your graphic ad, that doesn’t mean they’re going to click it. And many people are so annoyed by ads, particularly moving, flashy ones, that they run software that automatically blocks them from ever having to see such things.  How are you going to reach them?

And even of those who see your ad, what percentage of them is likely interested in whatever you’re selling?  Like a billboard on a highway with everyone passing, not many are actually going to be looking for what’s in the advertisement.  So if you base your ecommerce marketing strategy on those kinds of ads, it’s kind of like throwing rocks into a crowd and hoping you accidentally hit someone.

There are techniques you can implement in your ecommerce marketing strategy, though, that are very focused and take much of the randomness and guesswork out of your plan.  Search engine optimization is an important part of your strategy.  This will help you design your content and web pages to get noticed by the search engines.  You’ll focus each page on certain keywords surrounding your business, and when someone’s searching on that phrase, your company comes up high in the search engine results.

At least that’s it in theory.  In reality, it’s not nearly so simple.  Just optimizing the content you already have will definitely help.  But the key to this type of ecommerce marketing strategy is to show new content on a regular basis.  This shows the search engines that the website is active and updated regularly with keyword rich content. As far as the search engines are concerned this makes one site more valuable and vital than another site with similar content that’s not updated as often. So an important part of your ecommerce marketing strategy should always be new content that’s also search engine optimized.

Four- to five-hundred words on each keyword is a good plan, at least to start with.  And care must be taken to make sure this content isn’t just attractive to search engines, but important to people, too. Gone are the days when site could list keywords or be filled with gibberish full of keywords just to get good rankings. Now it’s important that the content is there for more than just your ranking.  So your ecommerce marketing strategy has to address the quality of the content not just how many times a keyword might appear within it.

Where at one time a simply repetition of the keyword many times in a row might have attracted a good ranking, you should avoid this in your ecommerce marketing strategy because search engines recognize most of these tricks.

The Internet is amazing. Quite possibly, everything that human beings have ever known will eventually find its way onto the Internet. Unfortunately, a great deal of wildly inaccurate information and even deliberately misleading information; has also found its way onto the Internet.

It’s great, and it’s useful, to read articles from site after site after site, but maybe sooner or later you’d want to ask a question or two, and you’d want someone out there on the Internet to actually answer them. Guess what? You can ask. You can get an answer. You don’t even have to pay for it. How? Easy. Sign up for an Internet marketing forum.

In case you’ve never joined one, an Internet forum is a website, or area of a website, where the site’s members can post information and discuss whatever interests them. These forums are essentially public—that is, all members can read them. Forums are generally organized by topic.

Within each broad category, the individual members create the topics. One member starts a ‘thread’ by making a statement, or more often than not, asking a question. Someone else responds to the question, and someone responds to the response, etc. This can go on for page after page.

You can get valuable information this way. You can also get complete nonsense, and can quickly realize that just about every wing nut on the planet has access to the net and loves forums. Some of these wing nuts can be extremely belligerent. Fortunately, most forums are moderated. That is, the site basically hires a referee to keep members from abusing each other, and depending on the site’s policy, maybe even keep them on topic.

Not surprisingly, an Internet marketing forum is a forum devoted to marketing goods and services over the net. Such forums enable you to interact directly with other Internet marketers, and would-be net marketers, getting answers to your questions and in turn, perhaps answering some of theirs. Quite possibly, you might even be able to market your goods and services this way, and quite organically; you go on the forum and just happen to find out that someone needs what you have, or what you do.

Another benefit from net forums is that they tend to be populated by regular members. This means that over time, the regular members get to now each other, and a sense of community grows. This can be a valuable source of moral support for someone trying to market a product or service over the Internet. Chances are, even though marketing over the Internet involves reaching out to potential customers and providing goods or services to existing customers, you can end up feeling isolated. It’s good to have an informal environment where you can talk shop with other like-minded individuals.

Got a question about Internet marketing? Just starting out and have a lot to learn? Or maybe you have a lot of experience and want to share? Join an Internet marketing forum. Not only can you do all that but you might just find that you enjoy being part of a net community of like minded people.

Many business owners tend to overlook one of the best, free methods of internet marketing promotion available to them—writing articles. If you’re shrugging and thinking that you’re not a writer so you couldn’t possibly promote yourself in that way, take heart. You don’t have to be a writer.  As long as you know your subject and can explain it in a reasonable way, you’re capable of marketing yourself with articles.

Internet marketing promotion is the key to your online business’ success, so you want to use every resource available to you.  And articles are powerful little tools in getting your business in front of people who are interested in what you have to say. It’s very easy to get started.

Think about article topics that relate to your business.  What services do you offer, or what products do you sell?  If you sell pet items, any article about any aspect of pet ownership is a possibility.  If you sell voice recognition software, then an article about how disability affects computer use or how dictating a novel while doing other things with your hands can allow you to get more done might be a good choice.  Anything relating to your main business focus is a good possibility.

You’re going to get very specific with your internet marketing promotion very soon, but for right now take one or two topics you’ve come up with an actually write about them.  You’ll want to aim for an article of 400 to 450 words, depending on the minimum of the depository like EzineArticles.com that you’re aiming it for. Just convey your knowledge on the subject, and write like you talk.  After you’ve done a couple, it will get easier.

You want your internet marketing promotion to look as good as everyone else, so spell check your work and proofread it for errors. Add a brief author note at the bottom along with your link. Then submit the articles.  Now that you’ve had a little practice, find an online keyword tool like the one Google offers for free, and think of some keywords that relate to your business.

If you own a gardening center, then “growing roses” or “when to mulch” might be possibilities.  Use the tool to find popular keywords that don’t have thousands of websites already catering to them.

The next step in your article internet marketing promotion is to pick a few keyword phrases and write articles based around those. Use the phrase in the title if possible, and 4 or 5 times throughout the article.  This makes it more likely that when someone searches on that phrase, your article will show up high in the listings. Then when they read the article, they find your link at the bottom.

If you’re truly intimidated by writing articles, you can always hire someone to do it for you at a reasonable rate.  But it could become something you enjoy doing. Articles filled with good content can be a fun way to expand your internet marketing promotion efforts.
